A cylinder contains 5.12 mol of an ideal gas at pressure 5.60 × 10⁵ Pa. The gas is heated at constant pressure so that its temperature rises by 125 K, its volume increasing from 3.80 × 10⁻² m³ to 4.75 × 10⁻² m³, with a calculated increase in internal energy and external work done.

Use the first law of thermodynamics to determine the total thermal energy transferred to the gas. Explain your reasoning.
