Two charged metal spheres A and B are situated in a vacuum, the shortest distance between their surfaces being 6.0 cm; point P lies on the line joining their centres a distance x from the surface of sphere A.

A proton is at point P where x = 5.0 cm. Use data from Fig. 4.2 to determine the magnitude of the acceleration of the proton.
